Two angels, Daniel and Cassiel, come down from heaven in Berlin. They can mix with humans without being seen… They meet a former angel become human, who feels their presence and passes on his faith in humanity to them. One day Daniel finds his way in a circus and meets highwire artist Marion — a life-changing encounter, since he falls for her… A film about desire and about Berlin, a ‘historic place of truth’.

Notes
Inspired by the art of visible angels around West Berlin, at the time locked by the Berlin Wall, Wenders and author Peter Handke have designed the story and continued to develop the script throughout French co-productions and German.
