Biopic of adventuress Lola Montès, raised to the nobility by the King of Bavaria, who ended up as a small circus attraction in New Orleans after having been romantically involved with famous European men.

Famous Soviet Armenian clown Leonid Yengibarov stars in this film about the artistic quest of a talented circus actor.

A Victorian surgeon rescues a heavily disfigured man who is mistreated while scraping a living as a side-show freak. Behind his monstruous façade, there is revealed a person of intelligence and sensitivity.

The film traces Phineas Taylor Barnum’s career from 1835 to 1881 when he joined James A. Bailey to form the famous ‘Greatest Show on Earth’.

Jacquot Demy is a little boy at the end of the 1930s. His father owns a garage, his mother is a hairdresser. The whole family live happily and like to sing and to go to the movies. Jacquot is fascinated by every kind of show (theatre, cinema, puppets). He buys a camera to shoot his first amateur film... Il était une fois un garçon, élevé dans un garage où tout le monde aimait chanter. C'était en 1939, il avait 8 ans, il aimait les marionnettes et les opérettes. Puis il a voulu faire du cinémamais son père lui a fait étudier la mécanique. C'est de Jacques DEMY qu'il s' agit etde ses souvenirs. C'est une enfance heureuse qui nous est contée, malgré les évènements de la guerre et de l'après-guerre.

Le film retrace la carrière de Phineas Taylor Barnum de 1835 à 1881 quand il rejoignit le cirque de James A. Bailey et qu'ils créèrent le célèbre "The Greatest show on earth"
