In 2016, the Presses universitaires de la Méditerranée (PULM) at the Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 University took on scientific publications on circus with the  Collection cirque founded and lead by Philippe Goudard.

The scientific online journal Circus Sciences releases its first issue in 2020.
